I have nothing but amazing things to say about Amy Siegel. Amy worked with me in the summer going into my first year of college. She helped me to feel comfortable and confident with college-level reading and writing. We implemented effective reading strategies and annotation tips into my repertoire and practiced essay writing among many other things. Amy’s assistance was crucial in my transition from high school to college. As a sophomore in college, I now feel more at ease when I read and write. I couldn’t have done it without Amy and I’m incredibly grateful.

I don’t know how our son would have made it through high school without Amy’s tireless support. Her understanding and patience allowed him to work through the challenges presented by his ADD, and she helped him build critical writing and executive function skills. She always goes above and beyond to provide the right type of support at the right moment – sometimes focusing on drafting and editing and other times just staying with him to get through a tough assignment or moment. Amy also helped our family better understand what our son was going through with his ADD, and because she was helping to manage his school work, we could focus on loving and supporting him-- not managing him.

I can not accurately put into words how grateful I am for Amy. Amy worked with my son for four years while he was unable to attend school due to a medical illness. When they started working together, he had little critical reading or writing skills. She transformed him into an outstanding and confident analytical reader and writer. Additionally, she helped him learn how to stay organized and on top of his work. Amy spent weeks guiding, inspiring, and supporting my son through the College Application Essay process–helping him discover that which brings him joy and writing about it. At the start of this process, my son felt he had nothing to write. After several weeks, my son’s burgeoning confidence and inspiration allowed him to write an eloquent essay of which he was very proud. Amy has continued working with my son during his transition into a college honors program, and he is flourishing in highly complex theoretical course work! I can confidently say that Amy has been pivotal in my son's education, new found confidence, and success.

Amy swooped in when my son was overwhelmed in 7th grade and very quickly helped him organize his study time and assignments. His grades improved markedly and he started to feel good about his capabilities as a student. She also helped tremendously with his writing skills. The next year, she continued to help him until he reached a competency level where he did not need tutoring anymore. The organizational and language skills that she has taught our son have prepared him not only for high school but also for life.

Amy has an armory of study skills to teach and methods to increase learning efficiency across many subject areas. My sons are very different and she helped them both. Her knowledge, experience, and active, hands-on approach are well suited to helping students learn and grow.

Amy Siegel goes above and beyond. When our child was on a deadline with a paper to write, she would continue to work with him on it outside their usual tutoring time. She would go to Google docs to provide feedback and when that wasn't enough, she would call to help flesh out his ideas.

Our students enormously benefited from Mrs. Siegel's tutoring for the HSPT (Catholic High Schools Entrance Exam). Their scores improved by more than 20% over last year's scores. She also taught Study Skills and English. Mrs. Siegel's ability to connect with students where they are in their learning process and push them to new heights is truly extraordinary. Our students grew as writers and came to understand how to advocate for themselves. Mrs. Siegel has a special gift.

Amy Lechter-Siegel has worked with my daughter every week this school year as a history and English tutor, and she's been a great help, both with understanding the material and with writing and researching two rather complex papers. Amy is very conscientious, and always follows up with my daughter during the week, often several times to make sure she is on task. We are grateful to have found her.

Amy Siegel is kind and fair, yet she has high expectations for success. My son’s skills in reading and writing have improved greatly due to the broad array of learning strategies and options that Amy has introduced. His grades have improved as well.

Over this year, parents have been struck by the increasing strength we saw in our student's ability to analyze and do critical analysis of literature. Mrs. Siegel has taught them a unique and user-friendly way to analyze novels.

Amy broke everything down into charts and had my son learning and studying in chunks which were extremely helpful to him. She gave my son confidence. He was a different child this year than he was last. Her work with our son blew our expectations out of the water.

My daughter is an athlete and Mrs. Siegel understood the importance of her sports to her and helped her to balance her commitment to sports and school. My daughter is much more confident in her work now. She knows how to plan projects with so much less stress. Amy was also fabulous about communication with parents.

"We are so happy to have found Amy. We have worked with different tutors throughout the years and I can say without hesitation that one couldn't ask for a more devoted, experienced and knowledgeable academic tutor. She has very quickly identified the areas where my kid needs help and she is always thinking of the ideal strategies to encourage the most effective learning and to build confidence".
